One of the benefits of using a project checklist is that it invites discussion of future meetings.  Unfortunately, you are not always invited to participate in those meetings.  Funding approval, IT resource estimates, security approval, and legal approval all take place in meetings you will not attend.  So how do you influence the outcome of these meetings?
